While you'll appreciate the lightweight design, the recycled materials used in this device are key. The ThinkPad T14s Gen 4 keyboard frame is composed of 90% recycled magnesium and 22% carbon fiber in the A cover on Deep Black models. On Storm Gray models, the top cover and keyboard frame are made of 50% recycled aluminum. Both models have a bottom cover made of 55% recycled aluminum and speaker, battery and power supply casings made of recycled plastic. In addition, the packaging is made of 90% recycled and/or sustainably sourced materials.

The devices are tested to 12 military standards and over 200 quality control tests to ensure they perform in extreme conditions from the Arctic wilderness to desert dust storms. These tests cover harsh environmental variables, including temperature, pressure, dust, humidity and vibration tests.
